Lots of photos of Year 3 having fun learning experiences during STEM Week January 2017.
Year 3 STEM- 'buildings' week began on Friday 13th January with a visit from Dave Robinson from Belfour Beatty. He is helping with the redesign and build of Tadcaster bridge. He spoke with the children about engineering and shapes used in different structures. The children really enjoyed asking him questions about his work and about Tadcaster bridge. Monday was the start of a fantastic week where the children worked in teams to design, build and evaluate towers and investigated their own scientific questions around the strength and stability of different bricks. Nursery came to visit us to see what we were doing and we went to nursery to help them with making towers of their own! The year 3 children had a fun time learning new skills and applying what they have already learned to the activities during the week. As always, the children aimed high and reached for the sky!
